Does my video leave my device?
No. This page downloads the audio processor from this site and runs it in your browser. It never sends the video or the extracted audio to a server.
Which format should I choose?
MP3 works with most players. M4A preserves an existing AAC track without re-encoding; other audio is converted to AAC at 192 kbps. WAV produces uncompressed 16-bit stereo audio, which takes more space. Converting to WAV does not restore quality lost in the original recording.
Can I process a long video?
Yes. The video is read from your device as needed instead of being loaded into memory all at once. Processing speed still depends on your device, especially on phones. Use MP3 or M4A for long recordings; WAV output is limited to about 256 MB to keep memory use manageable. Leave this tab open while it works.
Does this separate speech from background music?
This tool extracts the complete audio track, including speech, music and background sounds. It does not separate individual voices or instruments.
